Anyone who has access to a map will have 1 of three roles: Spectator, Participant, or Owner.
Spectators
If a map is set to public, then anyone who has the link to the map can view it. They will not be able to do anything else but pan and zoom their own view. They will not see hidden regions nor invisible combatants.
Participants
Anyone the owner has invited to the map. When the map is locked, participants are treated as spectators. Otherwise, a participant is able to do almost anything the owner can do.
A participant cannot:
- add or remove other participants
- lock or unlock the map
- make the map public or private
- modify any combatants or zone that is currently hidden by a region.
Owners
The creator of the map and ultimate controller of said map. They can see, or at least preview, all combatants and zones on the map. They can change the visibility of regions, and add or remove participants
